  Eight months old today! These days, the best word to describe Spencer is "determined". He'll lunge for whatever he's after, and will squirm right out of our arms. He started to crawl just yesterday, inching forward in an effort to get at his toys. His usual method of movement is still to alternate a roll with a swivel, back and forth until he gets to where he wants to go.
  
  His first tooth finally popped through about a week ago, followed quickly by the second: both front bottom ones. He guards them very closely and rarely lets anyone see them, though. Although he hates having his face wiped, he loves when we brush his teeth and gums.
  
  A whole new world has opened up to him since the weather has been so good. Spencer loves to go for walks, and Grandma shows him all sorts of neat stuff like dogs, geese, airplanes and construction equipment. He also likes to play and eat in the backyard since we got a patio put in.
  
  Spencer's favorite activities include bathtime (another thing he lunges for ... just try to hold him back!), reading books about animals, rolling a ball back and forth to us (Grandma taught him that one!) and of course, getting into and trying to eat everything that he's not supposed to. He knows the words "shake", "splash" and "bang", and will usually perform on command.
  
  Lucky for Mom, Spencer has embraced the Nap and can fall asleep on his own, sometimes without crying at all.
  
  We hope everyone is having a great Spring, and want to thank all our family and friends again for keeping Spencer dressed and flush with toys. We've still hardly had to buy him anything!
